A
Family in Footwear
Founded in 1956 by Victor and Madeline Tarica,
Jimlar Corporation was a pioneer in importing
footwear to the United States. Their sons,
Jim and Larry joined the company in 1962
and 1971 respectively. They now serve as
the company's chairman and president. Our
early years saw the growth of importing
as a respected market segment, and we took
advantage of this period to become an established,
respected resource for footwear products
from all over the world.
Scope of Business
Beyond developing product for our own bands,
today, Jimlar Corporation's sourcing activities
include styling, contracting, manufacturing,
supervising production and shipping for
many US-based clients, among them, retailers,
catalog houses, and branded wholesalers.
The company also styles and sources for
a variety of clients in Europe, South
America,
and Africa. Jimlar's worldwide staff now
exceeds 700, including those in our company
operated sourcing offices in Italy, Hong
Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Mexico, and
Brazil.
Corporate Achievements
In 1985, we began to market footwear under
our own brands and have since developed
proprietary products using the brands American
Eagle , fashion footwear for women and RJ
Colt, rugged footwear for men.
In 1993, we became the North American licensee
for The Frye Company, legendary makers of
America's finest boots.
The year 1998 proved to be quite busy and
vital to our growth. In January, we were
pleased to acquire The Frye Company outright.
Additionally, we now own the Frye Brand
for all its product classifications worldwide.
Later in March 1998, Coach Leatherwear,
America's premier leather goods company,
announced its selection of Jimlar as its
exclusive footwear licensee.
Focus on the Future
Jimlar Corporation plans to continue its
growth based upon adhering to our founding
principles: Dedication to our associates
and customers, commitment to quality products
and customer satisfaction, financial conservatism,
and balance and perspective in the execution
of our long term projects.
